Sam Mannering is the author of Food Worth Making and A Year’s Worth: Recipes from Dunsandel Store. He cooks, writes about food, and sometimes acts a bit, too. He studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He is the weekly food columnist in the Sunday Star-Times, and is a contributor to Cuisine and House & Garden. He is the executive chef and co-owner of Homestead Eatery in Auckland. A member of the board of the Wallace Arts Trust, since 2014 he has also been an ambassador for Totara Hospice, Fisher & Paykel, and Cloudy Bay Wines. www.sammannering.com


Karen McMillan lives in New Zealand and is the author of both fiction and non-fiction. Her non-fiction titles include - Unbreakable Spirit: Facing the Challenge of Cancer, Love Bytes, Feast or Famine, and Unleash Your Inner Seductress. Her fiction titles include Watching Over Me, and the bestselling historical novels The Paris of the East and The Paris of the West. Karen has a Diploma in Professional Writing and an Advanced Diploma of Applied Arts (Writing). Love Bytes was originally published as Love in Aotearoa by Random House and the book was short-listed for the Ashton Wylie Book Award in 2005. Previously an award-winning fashion designer, Karen has worked in the book publishing industry for the past 17 years. Karen has written articles for a variety of different publications and from time to time she undertakes ghost-writing projects.
